All You Need Is Con-fi-dence . . .

In Virginia, the Democrat running for attorney general, Steve Shannon, is touting his chances by emphasizing that Virginians rarely vote straight tickets in statewide races. That seems like a not-too-subtle signal that he’s not counting on the man at the top of the ticket, gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds, to carry him across the finish line.

Shannon says his internal polls put him within two percentage points, which is considerably better than public polling on this race.
