Well, I don’t think anyone saw this twist coming: “Gov. Mark Sanford arrived in the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport this morning, having wrapped up a seven-day visit to Buenos Aires, Argentina, he said. Sanford said he had not been hiking along the Appalachian Trail, as his staff said in a Tuesday statement to the media.”
I had no idea that the Appalachian Trail ran all the way to Argentina.
One of the GOP political consultants who I spoke with yesterday, whose perspective 24 hours ago was, “Well, this looks bad, but let’s wait and see what he says,” is telling me this morning, “now he’s toast.”
