Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts is running for reelection to the House.
This is significant for two reasons. First, Frank is not running against Republican Sen. Scott Brown, as a few folks had speculated. Second, this means that, as of this moment, none of the 10 Massachusetts Democrats in the House are retiring. Because of lost population in the most recent census numbers, Massachusetts will have only nine representatives in the House.
This means two Democrat incumbents will have to face each other in a primary.
Word is Republican Sean Bielat is thinking about a rematch against Frank, depending on how the new district lines are drawn.
