CNN reports that if McCain officially wins the nomination tonight — something that has a decent shot of happening — then McCain will likely travel to the White House tomorrow to pick up the formal endorsement of President George W. Bush.
Maybe Huckabee will get a phone call from Cheney saying, “nice job.”
UPDATE: Clinton strategist Paul Begala is hyperactively hooting and hollering about “Bush endorsing John Sidney McCain.” Fine, Paul Hussein Begala, you call my guy by his middle name, I’m calling all of your guys by Obama’s middle name. Including Hillary Hussein Clinton.
