The Captain Backs a Governor

Captain Ed backs Romney.

Already he’s being accused of letting his blog be “highjacked” [sic] in support of the former Massachusetts Governor.
Folks on the right used to complain that reporters in the MSM rarely disclosed who they voted for. The thinking was, if we knew, it would prove or disprove what we long suspected, that the ranks of political reporters is/was monolithically liberal. (When we did get evidence, like the survey that suggested that 89 percent of Washington-based reporters voted for Clinton in 1992, or Slate’s survey of its employees, it tended to confirm the suspicions.)
But if the inevitable fallout of disclosing who you vote for is going to be endless and baseless accusations of being on the take for a candidate, reporters will continue to hesitate to disclose what is, at its essence, a private choice. We have secret ballots for a reason.
