Culture of Corruption, Part Ten

Yesterday a federal grand jury indicted Sal DiMasi, former speaker of the Massaschusetts State House, accused of using legislation to ensure that multi-million-dollar state computer-software contracts were steered to DiMasi’s associates, guaranteeing hundreds of thousands of dollars in commissions and fees. He’s accused of taking $57,000 in bribes as part of the scheme.

In January, 135 Massachusetts House Democrats voted to reelect DiMasi as speaker.

That one-party rule is working wonders for you, isn’t it, Massachusetts?
