DeBolt Will Not Run For De Seat

David Castillo, one of the Republicans running for the House seat in Washington’s Third Congressional District, is on a streak of good news lately. First the Democrat occupying the seat, Brian Baird, announced he would retire, and now State Rep. Richard DeBolt, the Republican leader in the state House, has decided not to run for the seat, avoiding what probably would have been a tough primary fight.

There are still some other Republicans running, including one of the state’s rising stars, State Representative Jaime Herrera, as well as David Hedrick and Jon Russell. But the contested August primary looks to be at least a little less contested this year…
