Deeds: A Lifetime ‘D-,’ Rising to a ‘C-‘ This Year, on Helping Virginia Businesses

The Virginia Foundation for Research and Economic Education evaluated every member of the commonwealth’s state legislature, rating the member’s voting record on how supportive it is to growing businesses and a thriving economy.

The good news for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds is that he got a rating of 72 out of a possible 100 this year. But that ranks only 26th out of 40 state senators.

The bad news is that this looks like a campaign-year shift, as his lifetime rating is 61 out of 100.

The Republican candidate, Bob McDonnell, served as the commonwealth’s attorney general until earlier this year and didn’t vote on legislation.
