So where was the President this weekend, anyway? Where would we begin to look FORE him – eh, you saw that joke coming from a couple hundred yards away, huh?
Keith Koffler, of White House Dossier, notices, “I know this will be surprising to everyone, but the president has gone golfing. This is the last chance for him to practice before next week’s smackdown with House Speaker Boehner. The foursome will also include Vice President Biden and John Kasich, Ohio’s Republican governor. Kasich, a former senior GOP House member who worked closely with Boehner for many years, was chosen personally by the Speaker to be his second in the duel.
And, given that the king, the first in line and the second in line to the throne will all be in the same place for about five hours, LOTS of Secret Service will also be in tow. Today makes 11 weekends in a row that Obama has gone golfing. It’s his 14th outing this year and the 72nd of his presidency.”
UtahPrez at PoliPundit just can’t get his head around it: “I guess that I relate too much to my experiences in 2 greenfield startups of manufacturing businesses and 5 turn-arounds of declining companies or groups. I know how I reacted to the pressures of businesses in crisis and how I worked for hours and days on end to make those events successful. I know that it took complete dedication, focus and personal sacrifice to make it work…seems that I don’t remember too many golf breaks (actually none) until the job was done. Given the situation that this country is in, to see any of our elected officials on the golf course, Republican or Democrat, indicates to me a level of seriousness and dedication that is significantly less than I would give if it was me in their golf shoes. I’m sorry, I just don’t get it.”
