Feinstein: ‘How do you look at your appointment as effecting empowerment for women?’

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) has 20 minutes to question Sotomayor. Her lead-in to her question about the full context of her “wise Latina” comments runs two minutes, easily.
The question, when she finishes, is, “How do you look at your appointment as effecting empowerment for women?”

Sotomayor answers she feels “an awesome sense of responsibility.”

Feinstein assesses her answer: “I think you’re a walking, talking example of the best part of the United States of America.”
