Former Sen. Evan Bayh Creates a Job! Er, Sort Of.

Senator Evan Bayh, an Indiana Democrat, announcing his retirement in February 2010: “At this time, I simply believe I can best contribute to society in another way: creating jobs by helping grow a business, helping guide an institution of higher learning, or helping run a worthy charitable endeavor.”

The news today: “Former U.S. Senator Evan Bayh has found himself a new job. Fox News announced Monday the have signed Bayh to become a contributor to the network.”

I like to think of Fox News Channel as an institution of higher learning. The lucrative ad rates make clear it isn’t a charitable endeavor.
