Funny How Voters Notice When You Don’t Talk About Issues

A couple more interesting details to note in yesterday’s Washington Post poll of Virginia’s governor’s race:

By double-digit margins, voters say that [Republican Bob McDonnell] would better handle virtually every major issue facing Virginians, including transportation, taxes, education, the state budget and the economy. Only on issues of special concern to women does Deeds hold a tepid 47 to 41 point advantage.

Also:

Only half of those who backed Obama a year ago are certain to vote in November.

The Post poll puts Obama’s approval rating in Virginia at 58 percent, which is a little higher that we’ve seen lately. Rasmussen most recently put it at 52. In August, PPP put it at 42 percent.
