Gas Prices: What the Post Doesn’t Cover Because It’s Worried About Candidates’ Sodomy Histories

The other day I was filling up the tank and noticed I was paying more than $2.50 a gallon, a rather steep price that sneaked up on me. Obviously, it’s not as bad as the three bucks and change we were paying last summer, but it still seems gas prices have steadily increased, back up to the “man, this stinks” level. Last summer coverage of gas prices suggested we were headed toward the Apocalypse*, and yet, now the issue barely registers amidst the rest of the bad economic news.

The Republican Governors Association seems to have noticed, and is hitting Virginia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds for his willingness to raise taxes, including gasoline taxes.

* Judging from the movie, I Am Legend, the Apocalypse occurs shortly after gas passes $6 a gallon.
