Here’s Why Richardson Was Having a Tough Week

Maybe this was on Gov. Bill Richardson’s mind when he looked uncomfortable during the debate:

Richardson underscored just how far he has to go, recounting a recent conversation with his mother, who he said is beginning to have memory lapses. She kept asking him whether he was still governor, and when he told her he was also running for president, he said she replied in Spanish: “President of what?”

“That’s exactly where I am — I can’t even count on my mother’s vote.”

Reminds me of that old joke… “I was going to run for office as a ‘Favorite Son’ candidate… but then Mom said she would vote for my brother.”
