Great news, everybody! Profits are up at CGI, the parent company of CGI Federal, the main contractor for the Obamacare insurance-exchange website: $135 million last quarter.
In addition to the federal website, CGI also won the $84 million contract for Vermont’s exchange, which is having considerable problems.
CGI also won the $53 million contract for the Hawaii exchange, which failed to work on the launch day, didn’t work until mid-October, and is still reporting problems.
And CGI won the $66 million contract for Illinois’s exchange earlier this year.
CGI also built Kentucky’s exchange, considered one of the success stories of Obamacare. That state’s exchange has sold 5,586 plans.
