The Campaign Spot

How Much Do Obama’s Spending Proposals Cost? $459 Billion, or $1.2 Trillion?

Obama may have made the biggest whopper of the campaign when he said he’s proposing more in spending cuts than in spending proposals.

The RNC puts his spending at $1.238 TRILLION.

PolitiFact had some bones to pick, but concluded, “If we subtract the $75-billion stimulus proposal and $50-million nuclear fuel initiative from the RNC’s total of $874.4-billion and do not count tax cuts as new spending, the total spending associated with Obama’s proposals would be about $459-billion.”

Obama has now twice painted McCain’s income tax cut as a tax cut just for CEOs.
