But wasn’t this supposed to be the state that helped vault Thompson to the nomination? I realize his folks think he’ll win South Carolina and get a boost there, but right now, he needs a Huck-style surge in a lot of places, and one has to wonder if a third place finish in Iowa is going to be enough to trigger it…
