I Guess It Is Better Than, “TV Ads, Direct Mail, and Pray For Hail”

Having only two strong starting pitchers and then a dramatic drop-off in talent, sportswriter Gerald Hern wrote that the 1948 Boston Braves’ strategy was “Spahn and Sain and pray for rain.”

It appears that the Barack Obama Iowa strategy, apparently concluding that they have the most enthusiastic supporters, has adopted the strategy, “Youngsters and dough and pray for snow.”
