Michigan’s gubernatorial race could get an interesting, infamous new player:
Lightning rod Southfield attorney Geoffrey Fieger would become the instant frontrunner for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination should he jump into the race, political experts say, but they predict he will opt not to run.
Fieger said on Detroit talk radio Monday morning he will decide this week whether to run for governor. He did not return calls seeking comment.
…Fieger is recognized from his many forays into the media spotlight, from defending assisted suicide advocate Jack Kevorkian to his run for governor against incumbent Republican Gov. John Engler to his law firm’s television commercials.
Can you imagine the slogans? Feiger 2010: Because it’s time to put Michigan out of its misery.
