The Campaign Spot

It’s Election Day! No, Really.

In California, voters in the 10th congressional district go to the polls for a special election to replace Ellen Tauscher, who resigned her seat to work at the State Department.

There’s a good chance for a runoff: “In Tuesday’s special election, Lt. Gov. John Garamendi is competing with three other well-funded Democrats: state Sen. Mark DeSaulnier, state Assemblywoman Joan Buchanan and Iraq war veteran Anthony Woods. Six Republicans and contenders from three smaller parties also are in the race. If no candidate wins a majority, the top vote-getters from each party will have a runoff Nov. 3. Democrats hold an 18-point registration edge.”

The NRCC is touting David Harmer as part of its “Young Guns” program.
