This is not surprising, but I pass it along anyway:
A new poll shows Gov. Bobby Jindal is set to win the Oct. 22 election by a landslide. It shows 57 percent of those surveyed said they would vote for him. That’s compared to the 15 percent of his nine opponents combined. However, 29 percent was still undecided. Middle school teacher Tara Hollis is the closest candidate to Jindal with 5 percent.
Technically, the Oct. 22 election is a primary, but it is a primary in which everyone in the state can vote and all candidates are listed on the ballot. Usually, the top two finishers go on to the general election in November — what most would call a runoff — but if anyone gets more than 50 percent in the primary, they waive the runoff. In short, barring some sudden change in Jindal’s support in the next two weeks, he will be officially reelected to a second term a week from Saturday.
