The Campaign Spot

Joining Late

So I missed the beginning of the debate, as I was returning from a farewell party for my friend Marshall

On the way home in the car, I found that the only station on the AM dial that came even close to covering the Democrats’ debate was… the Michael Savage show. Savage’s coverage consisted of the audio of the debate in the background, with his usual mild-mannered and understated commentary in the foreground. So much of my exposure to this debate has been:
“Well, John, I think it’s important to remember…” WHY DOES SHE HAVE THAT LOOK? SHE’S GOT THAT LOOK! IT’S CAUSE SHE HAD SURGERY! SHE HAD SURGERY DURING THE CLINTON YEARS, SO SHE COULD LOOK GOOD WHEN SHE BECAME SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE U.N., SO SHE AND BILL CAN RULE THE WORLD! … “and that’s my position in a nutshell, John.”
So I’m still getting up to speed. Since I tuned in, it appears that the audience applauds every time Barack Obama finishes a sentence.
