I join my friends on the other side of the aisle in declaring that I am tired of this relentless bad-mouthing of our commander-in-chief from know-nothing members of Congress, blinded by ideology, trashing his policies that are trying to make the best of a difficult situation.
You know, like this:
Rep. John Conyers (D., Mich.) dismissed Mr. Obama’s [Iraq and Afghanistan] plans as “embarrassingly naive,” and suggested that the president is being led astray by those around him. “He’s the smartest man in American politics today,” Rep. Conyers said. “But he occasionally gets bad advice and makes mistakes. This is one of those instances.”
What, President Obama is just some sort of puppet? Some sort of unthinking simpleton who just reads whatever’s put on the teleprompter in front of him?
I started this tongue-in-cheek, and am finding myself meaning it the more I go down this route. Congressional Democrats have never met a fight against violent extremists they didn’t want to abandon.
