Those of us who listen to Rush Limbaugh know he’s ripped Huckabee repeatedly, declared that nominating either he or McCain would change the Republican Party forever, said quite a few nice things about Fred Thompson.
Well, Rush may insist that he’s not going to endorse a candidate in the primary. But his brother David, an author and columnist, has:
But as I’ve stated before, I believe Fred Thompson is a reliable, consistent conservative. There are others in the field I could support, but not without some reservations. The more I learn about Fred and observe him in action, the more convinced I become that he’s the right choice.
Last night, I also heard Levin urge South Carolinians to ”Vote for Fred Thompson!”
Now… I think that unless Thompson falls flat on his face in tomorrow’s results, he’ll stick around the race until Super Duper Tuesday, where there are a bunch of states he ought to be able to get at least some traction in. But if Thompson is the first one knocked out among the Big Five, a bunch of prominent righties who had found the other four lacking in some way or another are going to have a tough decision on their hands.
