A Lot of Policy Dogs That Didn’t Bark

Effectively dead, or at least seriously de-emphasized for now, judging from their absence from last night’s State of the Union: card check, closing Gitmo, KSM trial in Manhattan, prosecuting CIA personnel, amnesty for illegal immigrants, gun control, the idea that we can achieve peace in the Middle East by trying harder/pressuring Israel on settlements, renegotiating NAFTA.
Sadly, you could add “any specific consequence for Iran,” and any discussion of how we proceed fighting al-Qaeda in Yemen.
