Jimmy Carter will be speaking at the Democratic Convention, by remote, from New Orleans. He will not address foreign policy, friends of Israel are reassured.
As much as I would have loved to have seen Carter lecture McCain on how to create “peace, not apartheid” in the Middle East, how to respond to Russian forces advancing into a neighboring country, and how to handle threats from Iran, I still think there’s room for plenty of awkwardness to watch Carter lecture Republicans on how to deal with inflation, unemployment and high gas prices.
