My fellow conservatives, I know John McCain may never truly stir your hearts. I know he’s ticked us off on immigration, on campaign finance reform, on tax cuts, on cap and trade, on the Gang of 14…
But you have to love a guy who says, when asked about Fidel Castro stepping down:
“I hope he has the opportunity to meet Karl Marx very soon,” McCain told a town-hall style meeting of about 150 people.
When Obama’s talking about how much he’s looking forward to meeting Raul Castro, the contrast couldn’t be starker.
Over at Contentions, Abe Greenwald worries a bit over this, saying “McCain is begging critics to accuse him of being unreasonable, hot-headed, and generally too ill-tempered to serve as president.”
Eh, Castro’s got one foot in the grave already. Anybody who publicly whines about this comment has demonstrated an inability to see Castro’s crimes against the Cuban people.
