A press release from Barton Publishing — “a leading publisher of science-based nutrition and natural health information” — announced last month that Governor Mike Huckabee has officially signed on as sponsor for “The Diabetes Solution Kit.” The company touts the kit as:
a systematic program that shows people with diabetes how to maintain a healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition and exercise. This is what attracted Huckabee to the project — he used the very same techniques to battle his own type 2 diabetes.
The company also announces that:
Huckabee will also serve as an on-air spokesperson in a nationwide radio campaign beginning on February 2, 2015. The radio advertisements will lead listeners to an informative video on the Internet that describes the product’s features and benefits, while letting viewers know how to potentially avoid many of the medical difficulties associated with diabetes.
Those radio ads are now airing in certain markets.
In the video, Huckabee declares:
Prescription drugs aren’t going to cure you. They’re only going to keep you a loyal pill-popping, finger-pricking, insulin-shooting customer so Big Pharma and the mainstream medical community can rake in over $100 billion annually.
Huckabee declares the product is:
the most profound set of instructions and dietary plans available today. . . . I can guarantee — you’re not going to go hungry, and you’re going to feel healthier than you have in a long, long time.
