The Campaign Spot

‘Nobody gives a good [blank] you speech like Rudy Giuliani.’

A reader concludes, “Nobody gives a good [blank] you speech like Rudy Giuliani.”

Rudy is relishing taking apart Obama’s carefully-constructed public narrative, piece by piece. He says “Change is not a destination, just as hope is not a strategy.” He uses one of his favorite lines, hitting the Democrats for not mentioning “Islamic terrorism,” and asking who they fear offending.
He borrows Michael Steele’s “Drill, baby, drill” line, which has quickly become a favorite chant among the delegates.
I think Rudy’s speech is now on all networks.
“On the single biggest policy decision of this election, John McCain got it right, and Barack Obama got it wrong.”
“Barack Obama was against wiretapping, until he voted for it.”
“If I were Joe Biden, I’d want to get that v.p. thing in writing.” (That line, moments later, runs on the bottom of the screen on Fox News.)
“I’m sorry Barack, that you don’t find Sarah Palin’s hometown cosmopolitan enough. Maybe it’s not flashy enough. Maybe they cling to religion there.” Rudy puts on a great faux-snob voice for those lines. Maybe the McCain camp knew what it was doing giving him the keynote address.
