Noncontroversy

Few expected Obama to suffer much of a political penalty for inviting Rick Warren to give the invocation, but at the time in mid-December, it was spurring formerly supportive liberal bloggers to wish aloud to throw shoes at the President-elect.

Now, on the eve of the event, Gallup finds that it is a non-controversy. The polling group finds that 9 percent of Americans disapprove of Rick Warren giving the invocation at Obama’s inauguration; 39 percent approve, and 52 percent say they don’t know enough about him to say whether or not they approve.
