Obama: I Get Better in the Fourth Quarter, Really.

Great news, Americans. President Obama has been saving up all of the good ideas and good decisions for his fourth year in office:

I was mentioning to some of the basketball players who were here that this is like the second quarter, maybe the third, and we’ve still got a lot of work to do. But I want everybody to know I’m a fourth-quarter player.

Of course, the only folks who brag about being fourth-quarter players are the ones who play pretty lousy for the first three quarters (COUGHmarksanchezCOUGH).

Maybe he’s admitting he hasn’t really started trying yet.

UPDATE: Our old friend Mark Hemingway reminds me of the 2004 buzz about John Kerry being a “great closer,” a reputation that was largely self-asserted and had little historical evidence to confirm it.
