With Hillary’s husband pouting and fuming and whining his way through the electorate, it’s easy to forget that Barack Obama makes missteps, too.
One, today Obama said the stimulus package agreed to by President Bush and Congress “looks an awful lot like my idea.” One of the nicer sides of Obama is that he doesn’t seem like a raging egomaniac eager to claim credit for everything including good weather. But the idea of tax rebates has been around forever and his comment almost sounds like he’s suggesting Bush, Pelosi, and Reid stole the idea from him. There will be plenty of opportunity to jump on the bandwagon when the Senate votes on it soon.
Second, apparently his campaign has driven Paul Begala and James Carville from CNN. (Hat tip, Instapundit.) I guess this looks worse for CNN than for the Obama campaign, but the better solution to commentary from two former employees of the Clintons was better disclosure, not driving them off the airwaves. I concur with Cadillac Tight that the “repeatedly complaining” to the network sounds a lot like “whining.”
