Obama’s Approval Rating in Virginia Drops to 42 Percent

The latest survey by Public Policy Polling in my home state of Virginia has abysmal news for President Obama. He has:

. . . a 42 percent approval rating while 51 percent disapprove of his performance.
That’s down from a positive 48/46 spread last month. 92 percent of Democrats but only 3 percent of Republicans approve of his performance, while independents go against him by a margin of 54/34. It’s important to note that if this poll was of the 2008 electorate Obama’s approval would be a positive 50/44, but his low numbers among likely voters for this fall’s election reflects Democratic disinterest in the race.
Only 14 percent of Virginia voters say they’re more likely to vote for Creigh Deeds because of Obama campaigning for him, while 37 percent say they’re less likely to do so.
