Obama’s Probably Still Ahead in NC and IN Is Probably Still Close

Public Policy Polling suggests that Hillary Clinton has cut Obama’s lead in North Carolina from 25 points to 12 points.

But, since Obama is getting kicked around like a soccer ball today, let me offer him a moment of Christian charity and say I’m note sure this poll is accurate. For starters, the last PPP poll in Pennsylvania had Obama leading by 3; Hillary went on to win by 9.2 percent. (Their next-to-last poll showed the same margin.)
More specifically, other North Carolina polls have put Obama ahead in the low double digits. So the 25 percent was probably inflated.
Looking at the other big state next on the schedule, Survey USA puts Hillary ahead in Indiana by 9 percent. That seems a little higher than other ones, but RCP puts the average as a tie.
