One Congressman’s Reelection Bid Depends on Redistricting

It looks like Rep. Joe Donnelly’s decision on whether to run for reelection is in the hands of the Indiana legislature:

Donnelly narrowly won re-election in November and the Republican-dominated Legislature could make his district more GOP leaning when it draws the state’s nine congressional districts during redistricting later this session. Donnelly said he feels fortunate to serve in Congress, but that he might consider running for governor in 2012 or some other office after seeing how his district is modified.

Donnelly’s margin of victory over Republican Jackie Walorski in that House race was 1.3 percent, the 12th closest House race in the country.
