Goodbye, governor: “Senate President Peter Courtney and House Majority Leader Tina Kotek met with Gov. John Kitzhaber on Thursday morning and told him it was time to resign, according to multiple sources.”
The pressure to resign stems from the first lady’s consulting business, and work with clients who sought to influence state policy. The news broke in the final month of last year’s election but Kitzhaber was reelected anyway.
