I had thought that when it came to a couple of much-discussed, well-known GOP candidates, if they hadn’t declared their candidacy by this point, they weren’t likely to run.
This is the case in New York . . .
Former New York Republican Gov. George E. Pataki has decided not to mount an election challenge against Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand this fall.
. . . while in Wisconsin, it remains to be seen:
Tommy Thompson told The Associated Press on Wednesday morning that he hadn’t made up his mind on whether he’ll enter the race. He says, “The only person who knows what I’m going to do is myself and I don’t know what I’m going to do.”
Wisconsin’s filing deadline for federal offices isn’t until July 13.
