‘People don’t vote the negative stuff.’

I didn’t want him to be my next governor, but I otherwise like the gregarious, exuberant former DNC chair Terry McAuliffe. He ran in this year’s Democratic primary and lost to Creigh Deeds, and he has a bit of advice for his former rival: “Tell people what you stand for. People don’t vote the negative stuff. Now, it’s out there, so people know it, forget it.”

Having said that, “the negative stuff” has gotten Jon Corzine back in the game in New Jersey. Maybe voters do vote the negative stuff in certain races.
