All weekend long, campaign watchers and pundits sought some sense that either Hillary or Obama was pulling ahead decisively, or was on track to do so.
They can keep looking. Obama won Wyoming… seven delegates to him, five to Hillary. Such are the rules of proportional delegate apportionment that a 61 percent to 38 percent win for him adds only two delegates to his lead. It’s better to win than to lose, but just barely.
Mississippi’s primary is tomorrow, with 40 delegates coming from that state. It, too, is most likely Obama territory.
But the big enchilada, or cheesesteak, comes next month with Pennsylvania, where 158 are at stake. So even if Hillary is blown out in Mississippi tomorrow, they’re still headling into a state that, demographically, at least, looks like Ohio.
