Put Not Your Faith in Big, Expensive, Complicated Legislation Passed in a Hurry

One would think the failure of the stimulus to do what it was supposed to do would play a factor in the next giant, expensive, controversial, and complicated legislative behemoth to come down the pike, the health-care overhaul and the potential creation of a government-run “public option” on insurance.

President Obama is asking congressional Democrats to stake their careers on the likelihood that whatever new health-care system emerges from this effort will work better at providing care than the stimulus has in creating jobs.
