The Campaign Spot

Quick Notes from CPAC

2012 Watch: There’s a booth for the 2012 Draft Sarah Palin Committee. Mike Huckabee’s PAC has signs around, and he’s speaking at 1:30 and doing a book signing at 2 p.m. Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty speaks Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

Cam noticed, and I concurred, less “swag” than before. Last year, the place seemed to have a lot more vendors of t-shirts, buttons, bumper stickers and other conservative paraphernalia, obviously much of it related to the still-going campaign. This time around, the exhibition hall seems as full, but seems to have more organizations.

Maybe next year I’ll set up a booth to sell “I messed with Joe Biden” t-shirts.

John Bolton: I caught the end of John Bolton’s address on foreign policy in the Obama administration, which basically could be summed up as “It’s as bad as you fear.”
