Just a quick note to add to the comments about the sudden and way-too-early passing of actor Ron Silver. Shortly after the 2008 election, he hosted a radio program on Sirius/XM’s POTUS channel, and I used to joke, “Ron Silver the radio host makes me miss Ron Silver the actor.” While Silver was often a sharp, passionate guest on political chat shows, and his 2004 Republican National Convention speech was a barnburner, he was a bit lethargic as a host — or so I thought; little did I know at the time that he was fighting esophageal cancer. What once seemed underwhelming now is revealed as an act of defiance against what was within him.
RIP.
