Russia Told U.S. Missile Defense Plans on Hold

This is not a surprise, but as Closing Velocity notes, it is interesting that the Obama administration told the Russians that our European-based missile-defense system has been scrapped before it told those working on developing the system.

The official suggested that Mr Obama’s White House had made clear it would not prioritise executing the Bush administration’s plan to install a missile defence shield in Poland and the Czech Republic.

All those Czech and Polish political leaders, who pushed the plan forward because they wanted a closer relationship with the U.S., are left holding the bag . . .
