Senate Confirmation Now Requires a John Roberts Impression

Over on the homepage, my account of the Sotomayor nomination after day four. For her critics, the judge displayed a frustrating opacity so obfuscatory it fuels suspicions of dishonesty. The upside is the inherent concession from her and the Obama administration that a Sonia Sotomayor who stood behind all those controversial statements in her past speeches could not have been confirmed, even in a Senate with 60 Democratic votes.
