Some Florida Republicans in the House May Not Sweat Much in 2010

The filing deadline for federal office in Florida is April 30, about ten days away.
Right now, there is no major-party challenger to three incumbent Florida Republicans: Ander Crenshaw, Gus Bilirakis, and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. In the 21st district, where Republican Lincoln Diaz-Balart is retiring, no Democrats are currently running against neighboring congressman Mario Diaz-Balart, who is attempting to switch districts. William Sanchez, who switched his party registration to Democrat late last year, decided not to run in February.
Every Democrat has at least one Republican challenger, but obviously, some of them face steep odds. One lone Republican, Corey Poitier, is running along with 12 Democrats in the open-seat race for the heavily Democratic district currently represented by Kendrick Meek, who’s running for Senate.
