These Days Are Good Days to Bury Bad News

With Japan and the world spending the past week worrying about a nuclear reactor, and new military action in Libya, it’s a wonderful time for politicians to let out bad news, certain that it will be overshadowed by the dramatic news overseas.

Did you know that last week, all of Mexico’s major political parties demanded the recall of our ambassador? It stems from the ATF operation that included “gunwalking,” which is letting suspected cartel cutouts purchase massive amounts of firearms from U.S. gun shops and allowing them to take them across the border in Mexico, hoping that ATF will be able to track the weapons to the cartels. The aim was to prosecute the “big fish” of the cartels, but in the process, nearly 2,000 guns were bought and taken across the border, where the cartels used them in their violent, brutal acts, including the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol officer.

Did you know that our ambassador resigned Saturday? The official explanation is WikiLeaks.
