The Campaign Spot

Those Darn Undiagnosed, Unattended, Unmentioned Disabilities

So it turns out that despite all the hullabaloo about a McDonnell supporter supposedly making fun of Creigh Deeds’s “speech impediment,” the Deeds campaign says the candidate has never “had a stutter diagnosis” and never sought “medical attention” for his condition.

It’s never been diagnosed, he never sought treatment, and as I noted yesterday, it has never appeared in any article about Deeds throughout his career. Yet somehow we’re supposed to believe this was a deliberate attempt to mock stutterers.

We’re at that stage in the primary where everything any supporter of the Republican candidate does is automatically treated as the worst outrage in human history, in a desperate attempt to change the narrative.
