Tom Harkin Blows Up The Irony Meter

What’s really amazing about Tom Harkin’s comment about Rush Limbaugh, speculating “maybe he was just high on his drugs again” is that it comes literally in between a statement that Rush saying something “provocative” is “despicable”, and a subsequent sentence urging people to listen to “more responsible talk show hosts.”
Utterly oblivious to any concept of hypocrisy or irony, Harkin speculates that Rush is using drugs while he’s lamenting the lack of decency in our national debate and the need for responsibility in public statements.
Then again, we’re talking about a man whose staffers changed his Wikipedia entry to hide the controversy over his false claims to have flown combat air missions over Vietnam. Why is Harkin taken seriously again?
