Two Iowa officials have signed on with Scott Walker’s not-quite-yet-a-presidential campaign:
Dallas County Recorder Chad Airhart and Marshall County Treasurer Jarret Heil joined the Iowa leadership team of Our American Revival, an organization tasked with developing an issues platform based on Governor Scott Walker’s brand of big, bold reforms.
Pundits and analysts can overestimate the importance of geography; Recall how Minnesota’s proximity to Iowa did so little for Tim Pawlenty and Michele Bachmann in 2012. But it seems pretty clear that Iowa is going to be a key part of Scott Walker’s path to victory.
I imagine if you’re a local Republican official in Iowa, New Hampshire, or South Carolina, this must feel like the early days of the NFL free-agent signing season.
