The Obama biographical video is very well done, but it’s somewhat easy to see the seams. Footage of Patton’s army. The landing of the astronauts in the ocean. Lots and lots of pictures of the family. Fields of amber waves of grain.
Translation: I’m not strange or exotic or alien. I’m normal American. I’m patriotic.
The backdrop, now that Obama has walked out, really doesn’t look like a Greek temple and a lot more like the White House. Of course, that doesn’t really do much to refute the charge of presumptuousness…
Maybe I’m the only guy who would notice this, but this is the first night Obama has worn a red tie in a long, long time. He usually wears light blue.
